DNR SPRING HEARING – WAKE BOATING
As a reminder – The Wisconsin DNR will host public comment sessions in every county across Wisconsin on Monday (4/8) to get a sense of how the community feels about three resolutions proposed by the D.N.R. that would limit and restrict wake boating throughout the state.
The first resolution proposes that the ballast systems designed to take in water and weigh down the stern of the boats to make a bigger wake must be able to drain or be inspected, while a second one would outright ban any boats that can’t. Which would address the concern of carrying invasive species from lake to lake. The third resolution asks that wake boating occur on lakes no smaller than 1500 acres and 700 feet away from shore in 20 feet of water.
