Rock River Trail Grand Opening

The Rock River Trail Initiative is excited to announce the official grand opening of the trail on National Trail Day, June 3, 2017, 10a.m.-11:00 a.m., Beloit, WI at the Rotary River Center, 1160 S Riverside Drive and it is open to the public. It is anticipated that state and local government officials and National Park Service representatives will be on hand to “cut the ribbon”, officially opening the trail. Following the ribbon cutting there will be a canoe/kayak paddle, a bike ride, an automobile road tour, a nature hike and a horseback trail ride in the Beloit and South Beloit area to celebrate the Grand Opening. In addition, communities along the river’s 320 miles are encouraged to plan their own events the week of June 3-11, 2017 to celebrate and highlight the various components of the trail.
The Rock River Trail has evolved into much more than a water trail , offering something for everyone to enjoy, including:
